Magnolia in the Sun

Magnolia in the Sun

March 26, 2007 | Seattle

The Magnolia Trees in Seattle are in bloom. I ventured to the Arboretum to check out the blooms and I was amazed. Their collection of Magnolia and other blooming trees is amazing. Definitely worth the visit.

I like this shot for the simplicity of the single bloom. I tried to blur the background so that focus was drawn to the flower, but I still wanted people to see the branches from which it was growing from. These trees are beautiful and come with blooms in all shapes and sizes - a photographer's dream.
