Morning at King Street Station

Morning at King Street Station

February 03, 2010 | Seattle

I walk by the King Street Station every morning on my way into the office. This is the original train station for the city of Seattle, built over 100 years ago. Across the street (brick building on the left) is Union Station, built a short time after King Street Station to support the Union-Pacific Railroad. The King Street Station now serves as the Amtrak station and was recently purchased by the City of Seattle from Burlington-Northern Railroad.

The modern glass building in the background is one of a handful of building that belongs to Accenture and Amazon (and possibly Sound Transit).
